If you saw my first Studio Ghibli Lantern project, you'll understand my love for lighting and lanterns. There's just something about lanterns and lighting that can be so warming and comforting.
Paired with artwork celebrating my favorite childhood films, these lanterns are one of a kind pieces of decor that I am proud of. Here I created a second Studio Ghibli themed lantern, but this time with color to bring the artwork to life. The art style is different than the lineart style of the larger lantern, but I think the color really brings a depth and immersive quality to each panel. What I love about this project is that it is that the art becomes part of a functional piece to enjoy in an interactive, tactile capacity, rather than just being hung on a wall or placed in a frame. |
